My name is Shoto Tanemura.  I am Kancho (president) of the Genbukan Ninpo Bugei International Federation and Soshi/Soke (Grandmaster) of Ninpo Bugei and many other traditional Japanese martial arts.

The reason why I have come to teach Ninpo Bugei (which is the origin of all martial arts and is considered  a hidden secret) freely is derived from the following:tanemura_staff2

A Ninja never carries a grudge when humiliated or denounced.  A Ninja posseses a compassionate heart and persues peace and harmony.  This attitude is called the spirit of Ninniku.  Ceaselessly helping the people around him, a Ninja uses Ninpo to maintain a just society, weak persons and justice.  For this purpose, Ninpo Bugei, the origin of all martial arts and a previously guarded secret can now be taught to all.

A Ninja must nurture the spirit of Ninniku while obtaining proficiency in the basic eighteen martial arts categories (Bugei Juhappan) and the exclusive eighteen Ninpo categories (ninja Juhakkei).  The combined result produces the 36 Ninpo essentials (Ninpo Sanjurokkei).  Example: Seishin-Toitsu-Ho, Kiai-Jutsu, Aiki-Jutsu, Sakki-Jutsu, Jinshin-Kanpa-Jutsu, Inton-Jutsu, Kuji/Juji, Taihen-Jutsu, Daken-Taijutsu, Jutte-Jutsu, Tessen-Jutsu, Go-Ho (Kakushi-Buki-Jutsu), Biken-Jutsu (Tanto, Kodachi, Tachi, Nito, Ninja-Ken, Iai/Batto), Hanbo-Jutsu (Sanjaku-Bojutsu), Jo-Jutsu, Rokushaku-Bojutsu, Shuriken-Jutsu, Kusarigama-Jutsu, Kusarifundo-Jutsu, So-Jutsu, Naginata-Jutsu, Bisento-Jutsu, Hojo-Jutsu/Hobaku-Jutsu, Henso-Jutsu, Kisha-Jutsu, Ho-Jutsu, Gunryaku-Heo etc...  however, the ability to execute these techniques leads to the level of tactical application and finally expansive knowledge results, "God's heart, God's eyes (Shinshin Singan)".

Thinking that mastery of technique is enough establishes disappointing limitations.  If you are only looking for a Do (way) you will get lost or come to a dead end.  Beyond technique there is true mental and spiritual development.  With Ninpo lies the eternal truth (Ho/Po).  Genbukan members/students learn Ninpo not Ninjutsu.  Ninpo is the greatest self-defense of the mind, body and heart/soul.  Through this martial art, a Ninja hears what is silent, sees what is invisible and endures what is excruciating.  The true mission of a Ninja is to deliver light to a dark world through perseverance, making life a sacrifice for the peace of humanity.  Those who study Ninpo bust pledge to have a heart as soft as a flower when dealing with people.

The Genbukan Ninpo Bugei is taught for illumination, awareness and defense of the mind, body and spirit.  Although the term Ninpo Bugei is known throughout the world, very few know its true significance and those who practice Ninpo Bugei are even fewer.  Come without fear and train, for what was once thickly vieled knowledge is now to be shared.  Having served in the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department fourteen years and having taught people from all over the world Ninpo twenty years over, I firmly believe that Ninpo Bugei has come of age.  There is a real need for this martial art.

I hope and pray you receive my heart, direct and firmly, so that we may walk together towards a brighter future.
